Yes, you get to wear a smug self-satisfied grin for a whole week until the action starts all over again.
Are there any restrictions on who can play?
You must be over 17 due to those ever popular health and safety rules. If anyone has a younger team/younger lads they want to get a few games for you should send me a message and I can put you in touch with people who can help with this.
How much does it cost?
We charge 15 pounds per team or 3 pounds for individuals to cover the hire of the pitch. There's no profit. Any more left over just goes in a kitty we use towards buying new bibs/balls etc when they're needed. But a lot of the money for buying this stuff comes out of our own pockets.
What do I need to bring?
You need to have shin pads to be allowed to play (due to the health and safety rules). Other than that it's whatever kit you have. We have bibs to use if any team doesn't have it's own strip.
Who referees the games?
One of the staff from the sports centre referees the matches. We ask that you go with his decisions. He usually gets it right and as he is giving up his time to be there. So far no-one has had a problem with this.
Do I need to be part of a team?
No. If you have some mates you can make up a team with then that is great. If not give us a shout and we will try to get you a game.
Can I come along?
Yes, just head along to join us. It's probably best to drop us a message before you come along as there are a few weeks where we are not playing.
