Farnham Walkers - Frequently asked Questions
Do I need any equipment or special footwear?
Does it cost anything to walk? What's this I hear about a pub lunch? Can I bring my dog? Where do you walk? How far do you walk for?
Do I need any equipment or special footwear?
Not really. In the summer you may want to bring a drink with you. Walking boots aren't needed on many of our walks but the going underfoot does vary depending on the route and weather.
Does it cost anything to walk?
It won't cost you a penny, although you may want to bring money for refreshments.
What's this I hear about a pub lunch?
It seems to be a big coincidence that many of our walks have pubs very close to the start/finish. In these circumstances it seems rude not to make use of the facilities.
Can I bring my dog?
We have no objections to you bringing your dog. Some landowners do not allow dogs on their land though. It is up to you to ensure that the route is okay for your dog.
Where do you walk?
Anywhere with good scenery and paths! We're always open to new suggestions but we do have a few favourites including in the New Forest.
How far do you walk for?
We usually walk for two or three hours. We walk at a pace most people can easily manage as this isn't speed walking. The pace varies according to the terrain.
